Terms of sale and use

Last updated: 1 October 2026

These terms apply when you buy a play code from Every Suspect Lies and when you play our cases. Please read them before you buy. Nothing in these terms limits your rights as a consumer under Danish or EU law.

1. Who we are

Every Suspect Lies is run by Brandur Erhverv, Niels Bohrs Vej 38, 1. 13, 9220 Aalborg Øst, Denmark, CVR 45551040. Email: everysuspectlies@outlook.com.

2. What you buy

You buy a play code: digital access to one case (for example The Last Ferry) for one full investigation. The code is sent to the email address you give at checkout, straight after payment. You don’t need an account. The code works on any device with a modern web browser and an internet connection, and your progress is saved under the code so you can continue later.

One code is one investigation: every limit in the game (questions, radio calls, and the one final report) belongs to the code, not to the device. If you share your code, you share the same investigation.

3. Prices and payment

Prices are shown before you buy and include VAT where applicable. Payment is handled securely by Stripe; we never see or store your card details. You receive a receipt by email.

4. Your right of withdrawal and refunds

You can get a full refund within 14 days of your purchase, as long as the play code has not been redeemed (entered on our website). Once you redeem the code, the case begins and the right of withdrawal ends — you will be asked to agree to this when you buy. See our refund policy for the details and how to ask for a refund. Your rights if something is wrong with the game (section 8) always apply.

5. Age

Our cases are murder mysteries for players aged 13 and over. They deal with death, crime, alcohol and grief, without graphic detail. If you are under 18, you need a parent or guardian’s permission to buy a play code.

6. Using the game fairly

  • Play codes are for personal, non-commercial use. You may not resell them.
  • Don’t try to break, overload or get around the game — for example by automated requests, guessing codes, or trying to make the characters reveal their instructions.
  • We may block a code that is used to abuse the service. If we do this without good reason, you get your money back.

7. The characters are played by AI

The suspects and the inspector are played live by an artificial intelligence (Claude, by Anthropic). They stay in character and follow the story, but their replies are generated on the spot and can occasionally be unexpected or inaccurate. Everything they say is fiction. Please don’t type personal information about yourself or others into the game — see our privacy policy.

8. If something is wrong

If the case doesn’t work as described — for example a technical fault stops you from playing — contact us and we will fix it. If we can’t, you are entitled to a remedy under Danish consumer law, including a refund, whether or not you have started the case. The game is an online service: we work to keep it available, but short interruptions can happen.

9. Lost codes

Keep your code safe. If you lose it, email us from the address you used at checkout and we will send it again.

10. Our content

The stories, characters, texts, images and sound of Every Suspect Lies belong to us. You may share screenshots and your result card, but not copy or publish the cases themselves.

11. Complaints

If you’re unhappy, email us at everysuspectlies@outlook.com and we’ll do our best to put it right. If we can’t agree, you can complain to the Danish consumer complaints board, Nævnenes Hus (naevneneshus.dk).

12. Law and changes

These terms are governed by Danish law. If you live in another EU country, you also keep the protection of your own country’s consumer law. We may update these terms; the version that applied when you bought your code continues to apply to that purchase.
